Tempest (them)

It ended up taking longer than they expected. Luckily, Cassie had given Tommy Hank's number to check in and let him know when they were done. They were getting back to the hotel room expecting Cassie to be ready to go and place the police report. Tommy and Sean were anxious, they could feel the importance of what Cassie was about to do and were glad she could take this step. While helping Sean's mom, they discussed where they were expecting things to go and if they would be able to nagivate things with Cassie. They agreed that neither of them wanted to step aside for the other and that, unless Cassie decided she didn't want to be with one of them, they would be okay with her being theirs.

Theirs. That was something neither Tommy nor Sean had seen for their future but could sense was were happiness lay for them. As long as Cassie was with them, that's what was best for them. They agreed to go with Cassie wherever she was planning to move for college and continued the conversation they started the previous night.

When they arrived to the hotel room, they saw the door not fully locked and started to panic.

- Sean... Sean the door is not locked, almost open
- I can see that, dude. be careful and don't touch anything without covering your hand. I'm calling Hank. did he mention anything when you texted earlier?
- no, he just said he'd wait for us and that Cassie refused to have a police escort since we were going with her
- Hank, hi. Sean here. yeah, we good, at the hotel actually. did you send the escort after all? we are here and the door isn't locked, not even closed properly

Silence fell and Sean paled. Tommy knew he would not like what Sean would say so he entered the room, not wanting to wait anymore. The room was just like they left it before going to Sean's, no trace of Cassie inside though.

- Sean, what's going on?

But when Tommy looked back at his friend, Sean was crouched down and staring at something on the floor.

- yeah, Hank. we'll be here when you get to the hotel. how much longer? okay, I found something you will want to take a look at. yeah, yeah, not touching anything, said the same to Tommy
- what did you find? - Tommy asked Sean and got closer to the door
- don't pick it up and stand a bit further but look at this. what does it look like? - Sean said pointing at a small plastic cap.
- is this... is that a syringe cap? Sean... please tell me that's not a syringe cap and that we didn't leave Cassie all alone with her psycho ex still free... - Tommy started to ramble out whatever he had in his mind but Sean had to put a stop to the building panic because that wasn't going to help Cassie.
- stop panicking because that won't help Cassie. help me look around for other things that may help Hank find Cassie
- yeah... yeah, you are right. the lock doesn't look broken, so she must've opened the door herself. let' try to look for things in the hallway, it doesn't look like anyone got inside the room
- still, I would try to make sure we don't miss anything. you check the hallway then and I'll go through her stuff. maybe he took something or she went somewhere, we can't be sure
- try to call her? maybe we panicked and she just went to get something for herself or is downstairs and we missed her coming in

Sean took his phone out to call Cassie and that's when they heard her phone was still in the room. Cassie would never leave without having her phone in case she needed to communicate with them. This all felt weird and the guys were starting to get wrestless.

Just then, Hank called.

- hi, Hank. yeah, we are still here. we found Cassie's phone and there are some clothes missing I think. okay, but Hank? there's something that looks like a syringe cap on the floor outside of the room. Hank? what if he got to her
- don't worry, kid. - Hank stood outside of the elevator doors, near the room, hanging up the call. - I have two of my guys with security checking on the camera footage, one at the office looking at CCTV from the area and two cars ready to go wherever needed. show me what you found
- thank you, Hank. we were starting to panic and just want to get her back. here, this is where we found the cap, her cell is still inside and I think her bag is missing as some of her clothes are too
- you are doing good, kids. let me get the cap, look at her phone with gloves and we can take it to my IT guy at the station. anything else you can think that's not where it should be?

Tommy and Sean looked at each other, shaking their heads.

- okay, good then. let's see what my team has to say and we can go get Cassie - Hank started to message everyone and when he looked at one of the videos from the hotel camera, his face went red... furious.
- Hank, what's going on? please talk to us - said Tommy almost shaking, Sean paling at the prospect of Cassie being hurt.
- you don't want to see this, kids. let's just go, you're with me in my car. it's just outside so it'll be faster that way. did you check Cassie's car before coming in?
- no, do you want to go there before we leave? - Sean said, unsure of why he was asking about Cassie's car.
- if you have a second set of keys, I'd like to take a look. take me there. - Hank motioned for the door and waited for Sean and Tommy to get out of the room first. Closing the door and pointing to the elevator that was still waiting for them he said - we'll find her
- Hank, how can you be so sure? and how was it so easy for you to have a team this big ready so fast?
- she didn't talk about me a lot, did she? - Hank was smiling big, which was strange for him, with a glint in his eyes. Somehow she had managed to keep their relationship under covers and he loved her for it. - I'll let her tell you more about me and how we know eachother, let's go find her now. I promise to take care of whoever took her, now that I know about him.

They left the hotel to a destination that was still unclear but they trusted Hank had Cassie's best interest at heart. And for some reason Sean and Tommy knew that they were getting their girl back.
